Tips to Fight Insomnia

Insomnia is not easy to deal with especially if you have a rigorous schedule to deal with during the day. And there’s no doubt that your body is out of balance as it’s vital for your body to have a good night’s rest.

So here is a list of tips that will help you fight insomnia:

#1: Exercise regularly

If you want to get rid of insomnia, then one of the best ways to do this is to exercise before at least three before bedtime. Since your body gets tired from the work out, you’ll automatically want to get to bed sooner.

#2:  Avoid certain stimulants

Stimulants like caffeine, alcohol and nicotine are best avoided especially if you are struggling with insomnia. While caffeine can keep you awake for the next 24 hours, alcohol won’t allow you to have a peaceful sleep at night due to the nature of the substance.

#3: Napping

While napping is a good idea for people with no sleeping problems, this is a definite no-no for people who are insomniacs. Why this should be avoided is due to the fact that it is most important to acclimatize the body to a particular sleep cycle.

#4: Limit Activities in Bed

Watching television, eat, listening to the radio are all activities that we do in bed but it is important for us to limit all activities related to the bed to two things: sex and sleep. That’s it!

#5: Therapy

 Relaxation and cognitive therapy can go a long way in reducing anxiety and stress and this will contribute to a good night’s rest, and reduce insomnia, in general.
